Happy Anniversary!

Today I’m going to do something I typically don’t do on this blog – talk about something a little bit  personal. It’s only because I’m so thrilled and very excited to be experiencing it… I can barely contain myself.

Today marks one year since my last chemo treatment.  I can’t believe it!  It also marks nine years since my mom’s last chemo treatment. That’s right, we were diagnosed on the same day, started treatment on the same day, and finished on the same day – only it was 8 years apart.  Strange, right?

Well I can only hope I’m doing as well as she is nine years later – cancer free and living the good life!

So this post goes out to all of you who have accomplished the feat of completing treatment, to your families, and to those who cared for you.  It is a major accomplishment and something that you deserve to celebrate.  So go out, have a cupcake, a glass of champagne… heck have both!

So CONGRATULATIONS to you and THANK YOU to all of you who have helped me celebrate what I’ve been through.

Cancer Facts – Re-post

Just wanted to re-post these cancer facts. I posted them before in the post about the ALERT Act. They’re so interesting and scary and enlightening all at the same time. It’s all the things you kind of knew but never had the stats to back you up.

Check them out if you have a sec: http://www.cancerbill.org/why/american-cancer-statistics.html
